🌌 Lights, Reptiles, Action! How The 8th Dimension Launched Nevada Rise Students Into Sci-Fi Stardom
What happens when student filmmakers imagine a world ruled by reptilian royalty and fueled by music, inclusion, and a little intergalactic suspense?
You get The 8th Dimension—Nevada Rise Academy Film Club’s & Lucrum Productions first-ever sci-fi short film, packed with plot twists, out-of-this-world costumes, and a powerful message at its core.
Written, directed, and produced by the students (with guidance from club advisor Ms. Profit), this story follows a special needs princess who must battle her fears—and her cold-hearted reptilian sister, Queen Tuatara—to bring light and creativity back to their kingdom. The result? A stunning visual journey that blends fantasy with heart, and student talent with professional-level execution.
🍗 Fun fact: The cafeteria party scene was sponsored by Raising Cane’s, and musical instruments featured were donated by Concerts for Causes, bringing real-world support to student imagination.
Premiered at the RISE to the Future event—a joint celebration with the school’s Modeling Club—this film was destiny in motion. Many students appeared in both the movie and the fashion showcase, proving once again: when young creatives rise together, the stars align.
Lucrum Entertainment is proud to help these future filmmakers turn dreams into cinema. And if The 8th Dimension is any clue, the future of film is in good (tiny but mighty) hands.
