🎬 How a Brand-New Film Club Brought a School Together: The Making of Homework – Tales of Integrity
It started with a simple idea: What if students could become filmmakers?
Just three weeks later, that idea became a reality—with a standing-room-only premiere and a short film that left an entire school buzzing.
Homework – Tales of Integrity wasn’t just a project; it was a movement at Nevada Rise Academy. Written by Film Club Advisor Ms. Profit alongside her student writers, and co-directed by Ms. Profit, a second grader, and a fourth grader, this student-produced short film marks a first in Nevada Rise history. The school had never had a film club before—yet within weeks, they created something unforgettable.
The star? None other than the beloved fourth-grade teacher Ms. Shimatsu, supported by an incredible cast of rising student actors from 4th and 5th grade. Even the school’s administrative staff stepped in, making cameos and cheering the project on from start to finish.
With cinematography by Kaos and Kraackers, the film follows a group of students wrestling with a moral dilemma about cheating—and what unfolds is a powerful lesson on doing the right thing, told through the eyes of kids who live it every day.
The premiere in November 2024 filled the cafeteria with students, families, faculty, and friends. Laughter, applause, and proud tears flowed as the credits rolled—marking not just the end of a film, but the beginning of a legacy.
At Lucrum Entertainment, we’re honored to support and amplify these voices. Because this isn’t just about making movies—it’s about making history.
